Our client, a prestigious publishing company is seeking a Senior Membership and Events Manager to augment membership and deliver all company events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving expansion of membership through development of innovative initiatives.
  • Maximising membership retention and developing strategies for lapsed memberships.
  • Promoting the importance of membership at every opportunity
  • Overseeing the administration for new members and annual subscription renewals.
  • Proactively encourage dialogue with members to understand issues and the best way to support industry needs.
  • Devising and implementing annual membership satisfaction surveys.
  • Providing regular feed backreports on member satisfaction to GM.
  • Research and run new member benefits, tools and service with aid from GM.
  • Maintaining consistent contact with individuals from within all sectors of the membership, whether formally or informally.
  • Project managing all company events, whether standalone or in conjunction with other organisations including industry briefings, conferences and social events for members.
  • Producing the Annual Events Calendar.
  • Negotiating event supplier contracts.
  • Procuring sponsorship packages for company events.
  • Producing and delivering the company outreach programme.
  • Representing the company at internal and external industry events.
  • Forging new partnerships with organisations and individuals from within different sectors to further the company profile.
  • Managing all budgets related to membership, events and outreach working with the finance team.


  • Significant experience of working in membership or client-facing role requiring engagement with industry executives of all levels.
  • Networker with exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships to deliver strategy.
  • Experience of working with and securing event sponsors.
  • Knowledgeable and comfortable conversing about current industry affairs.
  • An extensive book of events and industry contacts.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Proven negotiation skills.
  • Financial acumen.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at any one time and prioritise workload accordingly.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An outgoing, positive, can-do attitude
